Who runs packs

Trailsy packs are operated by [Trailsy LLC] ("Trailsy"), which alone is responsible for running every pack and paying every payout.

Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in any way with, Trailsy packs. Apple does not endorse, administer, or provide any prize for any pack. Strava, Inc. is not a sponsor of or involved in any pack; Strava is the ride-recording service you connect so we can read your rides. The Central Oregon Trail Alliance and land managers are not involved unless a pack says so.

Packs are contests of skill, not chance

Nothing in a pack is random. Whether you finish depends only on your own riding: you ride every required trail inside the window, or you do not. You are not competing against odds, a draw, or anyone else's luck.

Every rider who finishes is paid. Finishers are not selected; they qualify.

Who can enter

You must be 18 or older to use Trailsy. To enter a paid pack you must also be a resident of Oregon and physically in Oregon when you enter. [attorney: confirm] The app will tell you before entry if paid packs are not available to you.

Owners, employees, and contractors of Trailsy, and their household members, may ride packs but may not win money in any pack they help administer.

One account per person. Entering through more than one account means disqualification and forfeiture.

How to enter

Open a pack, review its trails, tier, window, buy-in, and processing fee, and confirm. Paid packs stop taking entries at the enrollment deadline shown on the pack, which is never later than the moment the window opens. Free packs may allow entry until the window closes.

Sponsored packs, where a sponsor funds the pool, are shown with their own terms and may be free to enter.

There is no free alternative way to enter a paid pack. The buy-in is consideration for entry into a skill contest, not a wager on an uncertain event.

What entering costs

Your entry is your buy-in, which goes into the pool, plus a processing fee, which is Trailsy's compensation. Both are shown to the cent on the confirm screen before you pay, and the amounts shown there are the ones that apply to you.

The pool is made of buy-ins only. 100% of it goes to finishers or back to riders. Trailsy takes nothing from the pool, ever, and rounding cents go to riders, not to Trailsy.

The rules and amounts shown when you enter a pack are the ones that apply to it. They do not change mid-pack.

How you finish

You finish by completing every required trail in the pack, each on a single ride, with each ride inside the pack window and after you enrolled. Optional trails are extra credit and do not affect finishing.

There is no time component. Finishing on the first day and finishing on the last day pay the same. There is no minimum or maximum number of finishers: everyone can finish, or nobody can.

A trail counts in either direction unless the pack marks it one-way. A trail must be ridden start to end in one continuous ride; pieces from separate rides do not add up.

How rides are verified

Trailsy does not record your rides. Every ride that counts is read from the Strava account you connected, using the GPS track your device recorded and uploaded there.

Our system compares that track with our map of the trail and decides whether you rode it. Normal GPS wobble is expected and allowed. A track that leaves the trail for long stretches, only crosses it, or was recorded on the road next to it will not count.

A ride that never reached Strava cannot be counted, whatever another app or device shows. Keeping your device charged, recording for the whole trail, and uploading before the window's grace period ends is your responsibility. A dead battery, a paused recording, an activity on the wrong account, or a disconnected Strava link is not grounds for a completion to be added.

E-bikes are allowed unless a pack says otherwise, because packs are not timed. Record e-bike rides as e-bike rides.

What you win and how it is paid

Each finisher receives the pool divided by the number of finishers, rounded down to the cent. Leftover cents are given one each to the earliest finishers. The pool is every enrolled rider's buy-in, including riders who did not finish, so the fewer riders finish, the larger each share.

If exactly one rider finishes, that rider receives the whole pool.

If nobody finishes, each rider is refunded the percentage of their buy-in shown on the pack page (the no-finisher refund), and Trailsy keeps the rest as a disclosed no-finisher charge. [attorney: confirm]

Packs settle automatically after the window closes plus a grace period for late uploads. Winnings are paid through Stripe to the payout account you set up in the Wallet tab, normally within a few business days of settlement. Trailsy charges no payout fee. You must complete Stripe's payout setup, including any identity check Stripe asks for, before we can pay you.

Prizes are cash. Winnings may be taxable; above the reporting threshold we or Stripe may need your taxpayer information and may issue a tax form. Trailsy cannot give tax advice.

Withdrawing, cancellation, and refunds

You can withdraw from a paid pack before its window opens and get your buy-in back. The processing fee is not refunded. Once the window opens, withdrawing is no longer possible and your buy-in stays in the pool.

If Trailsy cancels a pack before it starts, for example because too few riders joined, every buy-in and processing fee is refunded in full.

Refunds outside a cancellation are reviewed case by case. If you were injured, hit a technical problem on our side, or entered by mistake, contact [[email protected]], ideally before the pack settles. Any such refund comes from Trailsy's own funds, never from the pool.

Trail closures and changes

If a trail becomes unridable during a pack because a land manager closes it, or because of fire, snow, or damage, Trailsy may make that trail optional for everyone, substitute a comparable trail, extend the window, or cancel the pack with full refunds. Enrolled riders are notified in the app.

Never ride a closed trail for a pack. A completion on a trail that was closed at the time may be voided.

Fair play and disqualification

Submitting rides you did not ride, editing or fabricating GPS files, sharing files between accounts, recording from a vehicle, using more than one account, or misreporting an e-bike where e-bikes are excluded is prohibited.

Trailsy reviews rides flagged for unusual speed, climbing rate, or trace patterns, and may ask you for the original activity file from your device within a reasonable period. A rider found to have broken these rules is removed from the pack, forfeits their buy-in to the pool, may forfeit winnings, and may be banned.

Trail etiquette applies inside every pack. Riding closed or wet trails, cutting switchbacks, harassment, or sharing another rider's personal information can mean removal from a pack without refund.

Results and disputes

Trailsy's completion record, derived from the ride data we received from Strava, is authoritative for all pack purposes.

If you believe a ride was scored incorrectly, contact [[email protected]] before the pack settles wherever possible, and within 7 days of settlement at the latest, with the activity link and, if you have it, the original file from your device. Disputes are reviewed against the track and our matching record. An error on Trailsy's side will be corrected. A ride that never reached Strava, or a track that does not follow the trail, cannot be credited. Trailsy's determination of pack results is final.

Trailsy may change these rules for future packs. The rules in force for a pack are the ones published when that pack was created.
